Telescoping Timelapse Crane

Posted in

Hi!
I've seen Paulo Castillo telescoping timelapse crane footage, and Milapse's new project. I haven't been able to find any pictures of the new crane? Is it still secret? Any discussion about how it works? I'm interested in experimenting and have a GH-2, so weight isn't much of a problem.

Just would like a starting point, to experiment.

Thanks

Max

When you say Milapse's new

When you say Milapse's new project - do you mean the DP Stage One Dolly?  It's not actually a crane, but instead a very solid, break-down dolly that is able to do cantilevered moves without balancing weights up to 4' long.

Now, as for photos - we're working on those.  There are some changes being made to the version that was used in the video to prep them for final production, and we've got beta units going out soon - as soon as the beta units hit the street, the photos will begin. =)

Okay, Thanks. The video and

Okay,
Thanks. The video and comments were cryptic. Some referred to a telescoping design.  I'm actually thinking about a hydraulic  3 stage cylinder. Say a small crane arm that is 4' long, that can extend 3 times its length, minus of coarse the overlap. Something small that a GH2 with a 7-14mm lens could be mounted.

But its just concept at the moment.

Will be great to see your Stage Zero when it's ready.
