I'm about to start working with a friend of mine trying to turn his kessler pocket dolly ( http://www.kesslercrane.com/product-p/100159.htm ) into a motorized motion control rig. The tricky part is that he'd like to be able to do time lapse shots with his dslr, but also be able to do smooth real time shots with his video camera. After reading through some forums and posts, I think I'm getting an idea of what it will take to make that happen, but I'm not sure. I think I need to get a hold of a miniE, a stepper motor and an Arduino shield (but I'm not sure which one), but I still have a ton of questions about really how to get started and get the right gear ordered. If anyone has some advice for me, that would be awesome!
