I finally found time to work on my pan/tilt head. I recently did a machining course so that I am able to create the smaller parts that I need.
I found the following website; this company is 20 minutes from my house:

I really, really need your help here. I am thinking about the following parts:
Stepper driver:

Can someone give advice about the gear reduction that I need for a pan/tilt head?

That is really confusing me. Which motor do you think is the right one for the job?

Hmm. These gearboxes are huge
Hmm. These gearboxes are huge in reality. They look so small on the picture :-). I will contact them to check if they can deliver smaller gears.
Main question is still which reduction should I get?
