So, I nuked their stuff, unfortunately they reset the date stamps on every freaking post on here. The spammers are starting to use humans to bypass the captcha's. Normally it isn't a problem as they only post one or two, but if another event like this one happens, unfortunately, I may have to take a drastic action I don't want to, which is to approve new accounts before they can post. =(
Having the post dates reset on EVERYTHING on here regularly is not an option. Unfortunately, I can't fix this part as the software only stores the last update date, and not the previous update dates, so I can't revert it back to its original value.
Sorry for the mess-up guys, I want to keep it completely open here, let's hope the spammers don't make this more difficult than is necessary.

Ok, I got some of the dates cleaned up, so the recent view works a lot better. For those that had posts with more recent comments that got pushed back a little bit, I'm sorry - but I think this resolves most of it (now to go clean up twitter!)
I'll start with adding a captcha to the login and not just registration, and see if that helps stem the tide a bit.

Ok, it's actually there (it can be found via search), but it looks like I got a little aggressive in the data cleanup, and broke a relationship that keeps its listed in forums, will fix shortly!

Spam sucks, but so does
Spam sucks, but so does needing a CAPTCHA for every post... Perhaps there is a way to group members that are known not to be spammers into a non-CAPTCHA group??? (I'm just thinking out loud...)
It should turn off once
It should turn off once you've answered it once for a particular form, is it staying persistent for you? I'm just trying to slow them down a little bit, they came back again, and it took an hour or two to get the DB back into normal status.
I'll look and see if I can disable it for specific users. Got something going out to you tomorrow, btw =)
Edit: ahh, whoops - it was on persistent! It should go away now once you do it once for a particular form. Just trying to get them to keep their mechanical turks a bit busy, hopefully long enough to catch 'em in the act.
